Turn Cwm Taf Pink Day @ TG

Join us in support of a very worthy cause...

Posted on October 7, 2016

TG's day of fun is all in support of Giving to Pink's Turn Cwm Taf Pink Day which aims to raise awareness and funds for a specialist breast care unit in the Cwm Taf Health Board.

Planning to pop down? Here's what you need to know...

1: First and Foremost: WEAR PINK

The aim is to turn TG PINK for the day. So, ladies, get your pink outfits at the ready. And gents, it’s time that old pink tie saw the light of day…

2: Launch Breakfast at Frankie & Benny’s – 8am until 12pm

Frankie and Benny’s will open the day’s festivities with a tasty charity breakfast.

Instead of paying for the meal, you can choose to donate the value of your breakfast to Giving to Pink. Breakfasts start from as little as £3.95 and unlimited tea and coffee can be added for an additional £1.95.

TOP TIP: remember to bring cash along as donations cannot be made by card!

(To avoid disappointment, guarantee your place by calling 01443 228 952)

3: Cutting the Pink Ribbon – 9.30am

Grab front row seats for the opening ceremony!

Frankie & Benny’s will host the event’s official opening, which will see Cllr Rhys Williams, Mayor of RCT and Alison Williams, CEO of CTUHB, cut the pink ribbon and say a few words to mark the start of the day.

4: Emergency Services Bike Battle – 10.30am

Watch as representatives from the local Emergency Services battle it out for PINK!

Three teams from South Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire Service will take part in a 2-hour exercise bike battle from 10:30am. With 4 members from each team, see which service battles the hardest…

5: Starbucks’ Special Pink Drink

The new @TEAVANA range is out and Starbucks is offering free cups of the Hibiscus and Youthberry flavours which are, of course, PINK!

Treat yourself to some pink, healthy goodness and make a small donation to Giving to Pink.

6: PINK PARK

Lots of TG stores are getting involved in Turn Cwm Taf Pink Day – so don’t forget to browse the park and see what pink surprises they have in store…

Boots

To help Turn Cwm Taf Pink, Boots has donated a fantastic raffle prize. They will also be sending one of their Clarins beauty advisors to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital to do some pink-inspired make-overs!

M&S

In aid of Giving to Pink, staff will be collecting money in store – while dressed head to toe in pink of course!

Harvester

In celebration of the Turn Cwm Taf Pink day, Harvester is decorating the restaurant with pink balloons, bunting and flowers. Plus - staff will be dressing up in pink. They will also be collecting donations and are providing a hamper as a raffle prize.
